 Sandra Reed

Eighth Congressional District

Dr. Reed is a native of Douglas, Georgia and a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and is board certified through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.


Dr. Reed has been very active in medical politics her entire career and has served as the president of the Georgia OB/GYN Society, The Georgia Section Chair for ACOG, and has also served as the Treasurer and Secretary of the Medical Association of Georgia where she is currently president-elect.  She is the Delegate to the Relative Value Committee for ACOG which sets physician work value for payment in the Medicare system.  She has served as a member of the Practicing Physicians Advisory Council for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.


Dr. Reed is active in her community and has served as a board member at Southwest Georgia Technical College and is currently on the State Board for the Technical College System of Georgia. She was a member of Thomasville’s Junior Service League. She has taught community health lectures on Growing Up Female and Hormonal Replacement Therapy.


Dr. Reed enjoys working with her patients both routinely and when there is a problem. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery as well as pelvic reconstructive surgery. She is a proponent for preventive health for women and advocates for preventive services for all her patients.


Dr. Reed enjoys spending her spare time with her husband Dr. Len Lichtenfeld and her three children.
