Testing

Information on the required nationally standardized testing programs may be obtained from sources below or from the local public library or the home education support groups previously listed. Some private school administrators may be willing to assist home study parents in obtaining and administering the required tests. State law does not require public school systems to provide testing services. However, if a local school system voluntarily wishes to offer a service to parents for testing students not enrolled in that school system, the test instruments and materials used for these students should not be paid for with state funds. In addition, careful consideration should be given to keeping this test data separate from that of the public school system so that validity of the public school reports will not be compromised in any way.
